Kiomec is a healthcare technology platform developed by TechOTD as part of the Health Boat Foundation ecosystem, providing medical rooms, virtual care rooms, and computerised health kiosks that deliver screening, consultation, and preventive care across diverse settings. Three deployment models — Medical Room, Virtual Medical Room, and Electronic Health Kiosk — enable flexible deployment in hospitals, corporate offices, clinics, transit zones, events, and rural communities. The platform integrates physical diagnostic hardware with digital health records and teleconsultation, making quality healthcare accessible beyond traditional clinical settings.
Deploying healthcare infrastructure to diverse environments — from corporate offices to rural villages — requires solving hardware integration, connectivity constraints, and clinical workflow digitisation simultaneously. Our challenge was building a software platform that could interface with diagnostic hardware from multiple vendors, sync health data in real-time or offline when connectivity was limited, and present clinical information to both patients and teleconsulting doctors in a clear, actionable format. We built a modular architecture allowing different deployment configurations (full medical room, virtual room, or standalone kiosk) to run on the same platform with context-appropriate workflows. Patient check-in, vital signs capture, screening questionnaires, teleconsultation scheduling, and health record management were unified into a single seamless digital journey. Offline-first data management ensures continuity in low-connectivity environments.
TechOTD built Kiomec to break down the barriers between people and healthcare — deploying smart medical infrastructure to hospitals, workplaces, and remote communities so that quality screening and consultation is never more than a kiosk away.
